Leeston Hall
Description
Name
Leeston Hall
Description
The Town Hall was erected in 1877 and later became a movie theatre.
Mrs Lambie provided piano accompaniment for silent movies in the 1920s.
The hall closed in 1969 and it was then used as a Scout den and storage before being demolished in 1990.
There are other halls in Leeston now that are used by the community; at the churches, the rugby pavilion, the primary school and Ellesmere College.
