TitleSheffield Community HallDescriptionThere has been a community hall in Sheffield since the early 1900s, if not before. It has been used for dances, concerts, socials, lectures, farewells, welcomes and elections in the district. It was the home of groups such as the Malvern Mounted Rifles from around 1904, who used the hall for drills, 'smoke concerts' and other events.
Inspired by the Sheffield Young Farmer's Club who wished to extend the hall, in 1967 it was converted into the Sheffield Community Centre at a cost of $13,210, and formally re-opened in October of that year.SourceSelwyn District Council
