TitleKaupapa of raulf jeanDescriptionAlong with honouring the people who came before, a large part of my vision for raulf jean is to
highlight our future: our future generations, planet, and aspirations.
With my business, I have a large focus on supporting local rangatahi to learn craft or artforms passed on by previous generations. I do this by creating my own amigurumi and selling it at local markets and accepting commissions – constantly advocating for people to purchase handmade and ethically sustainable items. The funds raised from these sales are put back into raulf jean to create a stable monetary basis for me to be able to run workshops free of charge.
In these workshops we cover the basics of crochet, sometimes working on creating amigurumi or squares & hearts to donate to local charity organisations. Supporting our young people to develop hard and soft skills through creation is an integral part of the raulf jean Kaupapa.
Another integral part of the Kaupapa is the charity focus. I work alongside multiple different small businesses or larger organisations such as The Kind Foundation or One Mother to Another. For some organisations I work with youth to deliver workshops, for some I donate my creations, and for others funds. It is important to myself and raulf jean that we implement consistent community work to make Aotearoa, Waitaha, and Waikirikiri the best place it can be.DateAugust 2025Geolocation[1]
