DescriptionView of "Waikewai" homestead in Canterbury with tennis court in foreground. Home owned by Alfred James Inwood (1877 - 1939) who lived there with his wife Martha (nee Inwood) (1881-1922).
Once the original swamp on the site was drained, the house was built in the 1860s, by Alfred's father, from timber ferried across Te Waihora Lake Ellesmere from Little River.
