DescriptionGeorge Roy Ltd. was a clothing manufacturing company set up in 1963 by George Roy Mather (known as Roy). It operated first upstairs at 170 Lichfield Street, Christchurch and was initially producing uniforms for the armed forces and the Health Department.
In 1966 Roy applied to use a hall in Springston, on Ellesmere Junction Road, as a clothing factory, to employ 4-12 people. The factory closed in 2024 after almost 60 years of clothing manufacture.
