TitleOriginal title: Display houses: 1961 Rolleston, outside Christchurch - kitchenDescriptionImage of a 1961 kitchen in one of the Paramount Industries display homes in Rolleston, appearing in the Winstone News, November 1961, p.30.
The Rolleston display homes were called 'Fendalton' and 'Cashmere', with the Fendalton one having higher specifications, such as full insulation. They were built from red brick with wooden windows, by the Christchurch 'building material specialists' Winstone, Blackburne, Smith Ltd. and furnished by Beaths of Christchurch.
At the same time as the Rolleston houses were on display, Paramount Industries had a display home built of pre-stressed concrete with aluminuium windows at the New Zealand Industries Fair: it was advertised as being 'radically new in design and construction'.
