Flower bulbs have been grown there since the early 1930s, first tulips and later daffodils and irises. The farm also featured on the TVNZ farming programme, Country Calendar, in 1980. Hadstock Farm now (2024) cultivates over 50-60 acres of spring bulbs and flowers – making it one of the largest flower growers in New Zealand. They farm many types of flower bulbs, including daffodils, tulips, snowflakes, bluebells, dahlias, gladioli and oriental lilies. Malvern City is their famed golden yellow trumpet species of daffodil.
