DescriptionMinchins Milling grows and supplies stoneground wheat at Riverview Farm, which was established by farmer Marty Skurr's great grandfather Edward in 1922.
It's located on Minchins Road near Sheffield on the south banks of the Waimakariri River, which suits the production of grain with cool winters and dry nor' west winds in the summer. Sustainable farming practices and diverse crop rotation are used.
The farm also has a precious 2 hectares of native wetland and natural native areas which have been looked after for 4 generations. It is one of very few remaining on the Canterbury Plains. Fed by a natural spring, it’s a habitat for native flora and fauna.
