DescriptionThe Violet Day Cookbook was an initiative to raise funds for the Plunket Society, continuing the annual tradition of selling buttonholes of violets and other spring flowers to raise funds for the war effort.

This cookbook is in the Glentunnel Museum collection, and carries local advertisements for Canterbury businesses, including Beaths, Tai Tapu Butter, the Christchurch Municipal Electricity Department (MED), Ballins Brothers Fruit Cordial, Ballantynes, Strange's Department Store, among others.
